Motorola's 2016 Moto X To Feature All-Metal Body,Leaked Suggest August Lunch

Motorola seems to be the next major handset producer to adopt an all-metal design. After an image of a prototype leaked back in December, we’re now being treated to a handful of renderings that show an all-new look for the 2016 Moto X. A recent picture posted on the company’s HelloMotoHK Google+ page shows the design of the upcoming Moto X generation 4 and Verizon DROID, while also hinting at a release on August 24.
The image shows the next-gen Moto X smartphone will be coming up with aluminum built and glass front. It will also have a physical button at the bottom and two black dots on either side, most likely the IR blasters used in conjunction with Moto Display.
Motorola may implement a fingerprint sensor for user authentication. It is yet to be established if the button could be used as a home button or it will be just a sensor. Around the side, the smartphone will be coming up with separate volume and power buttons.
The camera module appears fairly large and similar to Moto 360’s "flat tire" with dual-LED flash. It also seems to come with some camera sensors, including auto-focus.
Images also showed that the next-generation Moto X would come with a USB Type-C port, but that remains unseen. One interesting element at the back of the phone is a series of 16 gold dots, which might comprise a dock connector similar to that of Apple’s Smart Connector, incorporated in the iPad Pro.
Apple’s connector is used for transferring both data and power between the iPad Pro and the Smart Keyboard, without having to use battery or charging cords.
The company also showed off the new DROID sold by Verizon, which is quite similar in design with the Moto X4, but has a really cool color scheme on the back. Speaker configuration seems to be slightly different, but still  similar to the device it’s based on.
The new smartphone might be launched on August 24 this year, as pictures show the date on the phone’s display. Whether the date is correct or not, it’s about time that the company launched the next Moto X generation, considering that the successor was unveiled in September last year
